Manual for CheckPOInt 5
CheckPOInt works with so called overlays. These overlays contain the positions of "points of interest" (POI's) of a certain type. The same overlays CheckPOInt uses are also used by TomTom Navigator to display the POI's on the screen. When CheckPOInt is started, it checks which overlays are
available for the map that TomTom Navigator currently uses.
As soon as you are within a certain range of a detected POI, CheckPOInt can give you acoustic warnings:
But where do you get your overlays from? The simplest way is to make use of CheckPOInts synchronization features. When you come across a POI that is not in any of your overlays yet, you can record your current position by pressing one of the so called "application launch" buttons on your Pocket PC: record your own POI's! CheckPOInt is available in multiple languages: English, French, German, Italian and Dutch.
